Bhaskar Sen , the CEO & MD has a long career in ship building and Repairs , since his illustrious Father Late PC Sen started Hindock Engg Co Pvt Ltd then the most reputed among private shipyards in India.
Fixed and Swivelling Nozzles were manufactured under Hindock’s design and fitted in various Tugs built for Calcutta Port DGS&D New Mangalore Port and Paradip Port . The water thrust which was designed and built at Hindock yielded greater manoeuvrability and enhanced propulsive power of the installed engines more than what Kort Propulsion Co Ltd of UK could do.
Ocean going Tugs up to 30 ton Bollard Pull capacity were designed and built by Hindock . A hospital cum Banking cum Supply Ship, a novel of its kind was designed and built under DGS&D Govt of India contracts.
Mr Sen was invited by the British Government to attend the British Marine Equipment Council in 1979. He visited UK and then USA when he later took over and CMD of BCC Shipping and Ship Building Ltd.
Mr Sen visted the US National Harbour under invitation and had tie up with Mofatt Nicole of USA. He visited the IFC at the World Bank for tie up in financial support in developing the first of its kind in India, the MSBRC Major Ship Building Repair Complex. Mr Sen tied up with Royal Haskoning also for collateral support of the project holding two floating Dry Docks two Graving Dock on a an adequate water frontage.
Mr Sen participated in the Indo British Partnership seminars in Mumbai on behalf of BCC and later in Kolkata 1n 1997 when British Premier John Major and Indian Counterpart Deve Gowda presided.
Mr Sen was a keynote speaker organized by CII in 1998, where GRESEL CMD , CIWTC Chairman and Bangladesh Shipping Minister participated.
Mr Sen received most coveted Indira Gandhi Sadbhavana Award in 2002 in New Delhi. In 2002 later he was awarded Star Millennium Award twice , once in Kathmandu and then in Bangkok.
He is the proud recipient of prestigious Dirubhai Ambani Award at the Walt Disney Center by US Asia Business Forum in US. Mr Kevin Kaul is its founder Chairman. The Award was made by famous US actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, as Governor of CA in 2003.
Chairman Emeritus .Mr Mahendra Singh , F I E (India ), F I Mar E (India) a veteran marine engineer who was also Ship Surveyor in DG Shipping and then who sailed nearly more than three decades in various Carriers as Chief Engineer of Panamax Vessels. With his illustrious carrier he joins as Chairman Emeritus.
With the company’s expanded expertise and inputs BCC takes up MSBRC project for Paradip Port Trust and for Ports Abroad.
